The ASHRAE Technology Awards recognize outstanding achievements by ASHRAE members who have successfully applied innovative building designs. Their designs incorporate ASHRAE standards for effective energy management and indoor air quality and serve to communicate innovative systems design. Winning projects are selected from entries earning regional awards. This project also received a first-place Technology Award at both ASHRAE Golden Gate Chapter and ASHRAE Region X levels.

Introba provided engineering and consulting services for this new three-story medical office building. The project is the first medical office building to be LEED Zero Energy certified and one of the country’s first LEED Zero Energy-certified projects. As anticipated through Introba’s modeling efforts, the photovoltaic (PV) energy produced and captured on-site exceeds the energy used during full occupancy. The building’s all-electric operation signifies it is Net Zero Carbon as well.
