California DGS Jesse Unruh Building
As part of the Jesse Unruh building's design-build team, we are spearheading the evaluation of alternative HVAC systems for a historic renovation in Sacramento.
The goal is a Net Zero Energy operation, with a focus on all-electric, fully decarbonized systems. Options include floor-by-floor Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) and a decoupled localized heating and cooling system. Recommendations may link to the owner's district chilled water system for cooling and incorporate heat pumps for heating. The project enhances energy efficiency for the State of California Department of General Services, aiming for Zero Net Energy and at least LEED Silver certification.
