Introba (formerly Ross & Baruzzini) is providing technology planning services for Fort Leonard Wood Hospital and Clinic in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

The Fort Leonard Wood Hospital replacement project is being administered through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District for the Defense Health Agency. Fort Leonard Wood, located in the Missouri Ozarks, is home to the 102nd Training Division (Maneuver Support) and Missouri’s 35th Engineer Brigade. The hospital services 34,000 beneficiaries within a 40-mile radius of the city.

The new hospital will be located on 52 acres just northeast of the existing General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital. Facilities to be constructed include a 235,400 ft² hospital, 193,300 ft² clinic, central utility plant, emergency backup generators, five-bay ambulance garage, helipad, and supporting facilities.

Our teams are providing technology planning, bid specifications, and consulting services for the replacement hospital and clinic. Final RFP documents were released in early 2019. We are supporting the government during the design review process and into construction administration.

The biggest challenge of the project was to bring the various government departments together (including FLW Site personnel, DHA, MCX, HFPA, USACE, etc.) to discuss the numerous codes, guidelines, and criteria documents that impact the different technology systems. We led the team to create clear RFP language for the Design-Build contractors who were bidding on the project so that all bidders provided pricing on consistent technology systems that met the government requirements.
