eBay "Project Mercury" Data Center
Redefining Data Center Efficiency for eBay
Introba spearheaded the innovative design of eBay's "Project Mercury," a groundbreaking modular data center that is among the most efficient in the world. Tasked with developing a winning team of engineers and architects, Introba delivered a solution prioritizing simplicity, efficiency, and scalability.
The high-density, 16,000-square-foot data center features 8,000 square feet of raised-floor space and supports up to 12 server containers on the roof. Leveraging advanced engineering, the facility offers free year-round cooling, even in the extreme desert temperatures of 119°F, significantly reducing energy costs.
Designed with future growth in mind, the modular approach ensures seamless adaptability to evolving technologies. By aligning facilities with IT requirements, the project achieved a 50% reduction in capital and operational expenses while minimizing lifetime energy consumption.
