Indianapolis International Airport Emergency Operations Center

As the Engineer of Record, Introba was instrumental in the concept, planning, and design of all information technology systems for the new 15,500 sq ft facility at Indianapolis International Airport.
This project was fast-tracked to ensure substantial completion by late 2008, aligning with the schedule and sequencing of the Midfield Terminal construction projects.

Innovative Features
-
Systems Integration: A separate systems package was developed in conjunction with the facility design team, refining the original premises to complement the new facility.
-
Operational Coordination: Close coordination with existing systems ensured seamless phasing, migration, and transition plans to support parallel operations with minimal disruption.
-
Backup Data Center: Provisioned for an airport-wide backup Data Center, allowing systems to be procured and tested in advance. This backup center ensures the continued operation of systems for the entire airport campus in case the main Data Center is lost.
The new consolidated facility replaced the existing operations center, enhancing operational efficiency and safety. Indianapolis International Airport was designated ‘Storm Ready’ by the US National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), making it only the second US airport to receive this designation. The state-of-the-art Airport Operations Center/Emergency Operations Center is equipped with a “Ready Alert” paging system for frequent updates during severe weather, enabling the airport to dispatch personnel efficiently.
Introba’s comprehensive planning and design for the information technology systems have ensured that Indianapolis International Airport remains at the forefront of operational readiness and safety, providing robust support for the airport's critical functions and resilience against adverse conditions.
