Royal Columbian Hospital
Fraser Health’s Royal Columbian Hospital redevelopment project is a multi billion dollar and multi-phase project that will increase the hospital’s capacity, introduce advanced medical technologies and improve the health care environment for patients, staff and medical staff.
Royal Columbian Hospital has been providing expert care to the province’s most seriously ill or injured for more than 150 years. The redevelopment of Royal Columbian will modernize the hospital for the needs of today and for the future.
Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment Phase 3 is a comprehensive renovation and expansion project focused on upgrading and increasing capacity within the Health Care Centre (HCC), Columbia Tower (CT), and existing Emergency building (EB). These improvements will support the beds and services in Phase 2, accommodate 27 clinical programs and enhance patient care services.
The anticipated project scope includes:

Renovation of existing buildings: Upgrading levels 1-3 of the HCC, levels 0-6 of the CT, and level 1 of the EB.

Building Infrastructure upgrade: Renewal of all mechanical, electrical, technology and telecommunication systems.

Expansion: Accommodating clinical and support services in the newly built Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower. adjacent building
The total renovated area of Phase 3 is estimated at approximately 35,000 square meters (gross).
