Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital
Empowering Advanced Healthcare at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital
Eskenazi Health, formerly Wishard Health Services, embarked on a $754 million replacement project to modernize its downtown Indianapolis healthcare campus. The challenge was to create a 1.2 million-square-foot, 12-floor, 300-bed hospital that integrates advanced technology, supports cutting-edge healthcare delivery, and serves as a hub for Marion County's public health network. The project also needed to connect existing facilities, like the Regenstrief Institute, while meeting ambitious sustainability goals, including achieving LEED Gold certification.
Introba delivered end-to-end engineering services for information technology, clinical systems, and facility technology systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Key systems included:
- Local and wide area networks
- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
- Nurse call and clinical system interfaces
- Audio-visual and teleconferencing systems
- Public address, paging, and white noise systems
- Patient television and entertainment systems
Introba also designed and managed outside plant (OSP) communication cabling to connect the hospital with key campus facilities and provided healthcare technology consulting to integrate Regenstrief Institute's operations into the new hospital.
Our team collaborated closely with Eskenazi Health, Marion County Health Department, and the New Wishard Project Transformation Team to align technology with clinical and operational needs. From early design stages to final inspections, we ensured systems were integrated seamlessly with the hospital's wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) requirements.
Using a holistic, user-centered approach, we coordinated with stakeholders, managed construction estimates and schedules, and reviewed all requests for information and change orders. By leveraging sustainability expertise and cutting-edge technology design, Introba contributed to creating a state-of-the-art hospital that supports innovation in patient care, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital now provides advanced healthcare services while fostering connectivity across Marion County's public health network. With its LEED Gold-certified design, the facility enhances patient experiences, promotes sustainable practices, and serves as a model for modern healthcare environments.
