Stourbridge Health and Social Care Centre
This center is a new, purpose-designed, locality-based health and social care center.
The building accommodates a general practitioner surgery, podiatry, dental practice, pharmacy, social services unit, a primary care outreach center, and a treatment facility.
Our work on this project included the provision of all mechanical, electrical, and above-ground drainage designs. Energy saving strategies included low energy lighting and maximization of natural daylight; dynamic thermal modeling to utilize the form of the building; and a natural ventilation strategy that ensured the building complied with the NHS’s stringent internal environmental policy.
This project followed the successful completion of the Ridge Hill Centre, a unique purpose-designed, built facility providing support to carers, families, and individuals with learning disabilities living within the local community. The Brierley Hill Health Centre, a £27-million flagship development, was the final project to be delivered in this tranche and completed in December 2009.
