Introba (formerly Integral Group) worked closely with the developers, architects Bates Smart and contractor Brookfield Multiplex to deliver BHP’s new headqurters at 171 Collins Street, Melbourne.

The development was modelled by our specialist sustainability group, achieving a 6 Star Green Star – Office As Built (v2) rating. The building has also performed exceptionally well in operation, achieving the first 6 Star NABERS rating for a major commercial building without the need for Green Power.

The project encompasses innovative services design solutions to achieve low greenhouse gas emissions and low water consumption. These include underfloor air distribution, onsite power generation including PV array, rain and grey water recycling, low energy lighting and a high performance fritted glass façade.

Located on Collins Street near the corner of Russell Street, the new tower rises behind the elegant, heritage-listed Mayfair Building. It includes 29,800m2 of NLA, including 17 floors of premium, high-end commercial space and a ground floor lobby that runs from Collins Street through to Flinders Lane. The lower levels incorporate a business centre and over 1,500m2 of high-end retail space. It also includes 1,700m2 of lettable boutique office suites in the adjoining Mayfair Building.
