EcoLock Storage Facility, adopting a highly ambitious, deep green approach to sustainable development, will be developed as a 5-story, 110,000 ft² self-storage locker building, including ground floor co-working office spaces and shell space for a potential commercial retail unit.

The building incorporates leading-edge energy efficiency in design through an envelope-first approach utilizing innovative building materials to significantly reduce thermal energy for the building and storing carbon while leveraging energy generation on-site through a large photovoltaic array.

At a budget of $28 million, the project is pursuing the International Living Future’s Petal Certification as a minimum requirement with the intent of meeting the Net Positive Energy Petal and the CaGBC Zero Carbon Pilot Program.

Introba (formerly Integral Group) provided mechanical, electrical, and energy modeling consulting engineering services to this project, working with McLennan Design.
