Introba provided MEP, sustainability, fire engineering, and technology services on the fully-electric training and community center

The Heffron Center is a new indoor community multi-purpose sports and gymnastics facility, including a public café, as well as the headquarters, training facilities, and High-Performance Center (CHPC) for the South Sydney District Rugby League Football Club (Rabbitohs), designed and constructed under a Public Private Partnership.

The electrified, fossil fuel-free building incorporates several innovations, including 200 kilowatts of photovoltaic solar power, fully electric commercial kitchen and hot water heating systems, and multiple electric vehicle (EV) charging points. These features were incorporated during the building design to facilitate lower operational costs and lower carbon emissions, indicating the project's forward-thinking approach to energy efficiency and sustainability.

The multi-stakeholder-owned building required meticulous planning and communication with each stakeholder, ensuring that the final structure met everyone's needs. The project team overcame challenges in managing diverse interests and complex infrastructure requirements to design a future-focused facility that aligns with the evolving industry standards.
