This project is a great example of how buildings can be re-used to give them a new life in a low-carbon way. Our work has also helped to protect the building as a viable future portfolio asset.
The hotel opened in May 2022 and is already a hot ticket in London's vibrant theatre district.
This project entailed converting an office building into AMANO’s first hotel in the UK, while maintaining the retail and restaurant provision housed on the ground and basement floors. This was inclusive of serving a full restaurant kitchen and associated services.
We carefully integrated many new services into the existing structure while adding two additional floors and a rooftop bar facility. The external plant design needed careful detailing in conjunction with the planners due to both noise and visual sensitivities while still maximizing the roof for amenity use.
