Nonprofits Insurance Alliance of California Corporate Office
Introba (formerly Integral Group) provided full MEP, fire alarm, photovoltaic, and architectural lighting design services for the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC) office building in Santa Cruz, California.
The building is designed for Net Zero Energy operation and highly emphasizes sustainability.
The building includes a 125 KW photovoltaic array, and any energy produced but not used by the building during the day is stored in 125 KW/250 kWh on-site battery packs. This will allow the building to operate as a community shelter and relief center in an emergency or natural disaster.
The building has two full levels of office and meeting space. A partial third floor accommodates a staff kitchen, lunchroom, roof deck, a large meeting room to host training sessions and board meetings, and three apartments to host visiting staff. The office workplace model is primarily an open office with most workstations assigned flexibly to accommodate the changing demands of mobile staff. Numerous meeting spaces of various sizes will be distributed throughout the workspace to support the Nonprofits Insurance Alliance of California’s collaborative work style.
