Vancouver Aquarium Expansion
Located in the heart of Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC, the Vancouver Aquarium Expansion and Revitalization project added 42,000 sq ft of space to accommodate both exhibits and commercial space.
Introba provided Mechanical, Energy Modeling, Sustainability, and LEED engineering services for this expansion project.
The key feature of this project was the addition of a site-wide ambient loop which has enabled the Aquarium to share energy throughout the site and reduce energy demand. Sea water is used, in conjunction with heat pumps, to produce heating for the building. This project reduced energy demand by over 40% and has achieved LEED Silver certification.
