With a degree from MIT in electrical engineering and a doctorate in industrial engineering, Donald Ross, Sc.D., P.E., founded Donald Ross & Associates in 1953 with a goal to elevate engineering service.
In 1961, Joe Baruzzini is hired as Mechanical Principal. Together, Ross and Baruzzini provided high-quality engineering to blue-chip clients that valued smart design and personal service.
With mechanical and electrical engineering services available, Ross & Baruzzini is formed in 1962.
The US General Services Administration adopts new lighting standards for all federal buildings following a research project led by Ross & Baruzzini.
Ross & Baruzzini acquires Hanlon & Associates, opening the door for expansion into the aviation marketplace and US market opportunities.
Ross & Baruzzini enters the rail and transit market when hired as a system engineer for MetroLink, the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan light rail system.
Integral Group, a new deep green engineering consulting firm, is founded by Kevin Hydes.
In an effort to better serve their international clients, Sidara (formerly Dar Group) acquires Ross & Baruzzini for its expertise in technology and breadth of services.

Elementa Consulting becomes a member of Integral Group with offices in London and Oxford, UK, expanding their building engineering and consulting services.
Integral Group project, J. Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla, California, is the first certified Net Zero Energy completed lab in the world.
Integral Group is the first engineering firm to receive a JUST Label.
Integral Group helps launch pilot of WELL Building Standard, which sets performance requirements for all building types (commercial, institutional, residential, core and shell, and tenant improvements) in seven categories: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind.
Macro becomes a part of Ross & Baruzzini family in 2013, expanding their systems engineering services.
Washington University Loop Student Living Initiative becomes Ross & Baruzzini's first LEED Platinum-certified project.
Integral Group project, the San Francisco Exploratorium, becomes LEED Platinum, zero net energy and net zero carbon certified. It is the world’s largest public zero energy museum (at time of certification).
Integral Group achieves 50 net zero energy-designed projects.
DVS joins Ross & Baruzzini in 2015, further strengthening the firm's position as a trusted leader in the global security industry.
Integral Group project, DPR Construction's office, is the first net zero energy-certified commercial building in San Francisco.
Mitchell Planning joins Ross & Baruzzini in 2016. Mitchell Planning has a diverse and comprehensive portfolio of medical equipment planning, procurement, installation, and relocation services. They have successfully completed more than 900 projects and planned more than $5 billion worth of medical equipment.
Vancouver-based firm JM Bean & Co. partners with Integral Group and has expanded its mechanical engineering practice.
Integral Group opens its office in Sydney, Australia.
Ross & Baruzzini acquires CAGE, Inc. in 2017, bringing specialized engineering focused on automated baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, ground support services, and aircraft parking design.
Ross & Baruzzini acquires EDI, Ltd. based in Atlanta, Georgia. EDI is a leading technology consulting and design firm that provides advisory services, technology system design, data center-specific services, and technology program management for various types of technology projects in the healthcare, corporate, education, and commercial markets.
Integral Group acquires Umow Lai, expanding their MEP and fire engineering, technology (ICT), and sustainability (ESD) consultancy in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
Ross & Baruzzini acquires COMgroup in 2019. COMgroup also has a strong history of public sector work and became known as public sector experts through our abundance of projects.
Genesis Planning, a Texas-based medical equipment planning and consulting firm, joins Ross & Baruzzini, bringing in relationships in 17 countries with global projects that span North America, South and Central Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
