The parking area is a multi-level open parking garage for 1,441 spaces. The multi-use facility includes approximately 8,000sf of support office space on the ground floor, 25,000sf of retail and food service space, 5,000sf of classroom space, and 9,000sf of office space for the FIU Public Safety Department distributed in two levels. There are also provisions for approximately 6,300 gross feet for future expansion of Public Safety Offices.

Project HVAC design incorporated air cooled chillers and air handling units to serve all of the office, retail, food service, and classroom spaces within the complex. The HVAC system consisted of two 40-ton and two 80-ton air cooled chillers, 10-plus VAV air handling units ranging in size from 4-tons to 100-tons of cooling capacity, and complete DDC controls for all equipment.

This facility is also equipped with a 450 kW standby/emergency generator that serves all life safety loads and all loads associated with the public safety offices and retail/food service areas, including the chillers and air handling units serving those areas. The fire protection systems are equipped with a 100 HP fire pump.
