Lions Gate Hospital | Phase 3 Acute Care
Introba is providing mechanical design and analysis for the air handling strategy for the Lions Gate Hospital’s Phase 3 Acute Care facility in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Building the new Paul Myers Tower (acute care facility) at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) in North Vancouver, BC, is about transforming the future of care. The new facility will be essential in enhancing healthcare services for people on the North Shore and beyond.
The new tower will be technologically advanced, replace aging infrastructure, and incorporate innovations that will enable LGH to deliver the highest quality of care possible. This new state-of-the-art, high-tech facility will serve as a hub for acute care in the VCH Coastal Community of Care, serving the North Shore and the Sea-to-Sky corridor, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Bella Bella, and Bella Coola on the Central Coast and surrounding First Nations.
The patient-centered design will improve the experiences of our patients and their families, acting as a healing environment with quiet spaces, views of nature, and other access to daylight. There will be 108 patient beds in 84 single rooms and 12 semi-private double rooms, which will all have a private ensuite washroom. The health facility will include eight state-of-the-art operating rooms; the patient-centric perioperative suite will optimize surgical outcomes while reducing recovery times and improving the overall patient experience.
Vancouver Coastal Health is funding the project, the Ministry of Health, and a $100-million fundraising campaign by the LGH Foundation.
