Washington University I Loop Student Living Initiative (The Lofts)
Introba spearheaded the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security systems for four new buildings in University City's Delmar "Loop" District, housing approximately 450 students and retail spaces.
Challenges included integrating sustainable components while meeting stringent LEED Platinum certification requirements.
Introba implemented various sustainable features to overcome these challenges, achieving significant energy savings and LEED Platinum certification. Solar photovoltaic and domestic hot water heating systems, high-efficiency chiller plants, and heat recovery wheels were incorporated. Demand-based ventilation controls, LED lighting, and green roofs further enhanced sustainability.
Awards and certifications validate the project's success, including the 2014 ASHRAE Technology Award and the 2015 St. Louis At Home Architect and Designer Awards. Introba transformed the mixed-use development into an energy-efficient, award-winning complex through innovative design and sustainable solutions, setting a benchmark for sustainable building practices.
