Wyndham City Council EV Infrastructure Implementation
Building on our relationship with Wyndham City Council, Introba designed the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging units at the Wyndham Civic Centre and upgraded the fleet infrastructure at the Wyndham Council Municipal Depot.
This initiative supports Wyndham City Council's sustainability goals, reducing carbon emissions and supporting the transition to electric transportation within the community.
Installing two dual EV charging stations at the Wyndham Civic Centre required careful coordination to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to crucial equipment and services. Unable to take the switchboard completely offline, our engineers investigated solutions, including cutting into the mechanical system's cable and adding an additional take-off breaker for the EV charging units. This allowed the additional EV charging units to also utilize power generated from the solar panels.
The upgrade of the fleet infrastructure EV compatibility includes 22 new EV charging stations suitable for small to medium cars, trucks, and larger fleet vehicles. The load management system optimizes vehicle charging schedules based on energy demand and availability, maximizing the use of renewable energy sources such as solar power.
