Introba currently provides mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for constructing two childcare facilities at 150 Water Street and 151 West Cordova Street in Vancouver, BC.

The two facilities will be built on the rooftop of existing EasyPark parkades, and each will have approximately 4,620 ft² to accommodate 37 childcare spaces, including 12 infant and toddler spaces and 25 preschool spaces. Both facilities include cubbies, a nap room, a quiet room, a parent room, a diaper changing area, a shared kitchen, laundry, and a staff washroom. The building was designed using modular prefabricated wall systems to improve the speed of construction, improve the quality of construction and reduce on-site waste. The two facilities are LEED Gold (with a 30% reduction in energy use over the requirements of the current Vancouver Building By-law) and Passive House Standard certification with a focus on net zero energy and low carbon fuel sources. The mechanical systems utilize Passive House Certified energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) and air source heat pumps heating and cooling systems There will be no natural gas connection to the building.
