SickKids Patient Support Centre
Our team provided intelligent building oversight and ICAT commissioning services for this hospital in Toronto.
The Patient Support Centre (PSC) is a new 22-story administrative tower located on the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) campus in Toronto. The PSC includes an undulating façade, interdisciplinary education, and simulation spaces that bring clinical staff, corporate staff, learners, and trainees together in a light-filled environment.
The tower’s façade has been designed with a significant degree of transparency to foster increased connectivity between the hospital campus and the community.
SickKids is targeting a minimum of LEED v4 Gold certification and has incorporated the latest smart building technology into the design. Additionally, the PSC will be the first project to comply with Toronto’s Tier 2 Building Standards and will have terraced green roofs that contribute to the building’s sustainability and offer hospital staff further opportunities to engage with the city.
